Understanding social interactions has never been easy for me.
As a means of studying people’s behavior (so that I could learn what to do) I took to running little experiments with eye contact over a decade ago.
There is SO much there.
One can flirt, repulse, dominate, submit, apologize, forgive, convey a multitude of feelings, advance, retreat, engage, disengage…the list goes on and on…with nothing but one’s eyes.
It makes sense that when we take eye contact out of the human communication equation, our interactions suffer…even more than I could’ve imagined.
Great article. 👍😊
