The false conclusions in this piece drive me batty.
The data says that women lose sexual desire over the course of a cohabiting LTR.
It doesn’t say that “hall passes” and open marriages are the fix, or even that that is what women want.
In fact, it says that individuals who want to stay monogamous seek out novelty and that women are the largest purchasers of said novelty.
Women want to remain monogamous, but often their sexual desire for their LT co-habiting partner shuts down. They want to want their partners — but they don’t. And they don’t blame their partners — they blame themselves.
We should be discussing what that’s all about, for the benefit of both men and women instead of making sensational leaps in logic that benefit no one.
