Thank you, Nabeelah Patel! XOXO, as always.

Your words really resonate with me. We have a lot in common. Thank you for being present and taking the time to read and respond and, most of all, for sharing your experience.

Sometimes you think you’re alone in feeling a certain way and that no one could understand and then someone reaches out and you’re not alone anymore. You’ve done that for me on more than one occasion.

It’s hard to say, “then I got pretty and things got even harder” and have people take you seriously. I didn’t play up that part for a reason — it was too vulnerable. But there’s a story in there about finally finding out that there’s something about you people value — and having that thing have nothing to do with who you are.

I love that you’re a learner and I love that you’re a reader. You have both student and teacher in you. I love that we have connected. I look forward to connecting more. :)

Mama, writer, lover, fighter — I wear my heart on my sleeve because my pants pockets are too small.
