JackJack update: Yesterday, 6 weeks later, she hit 16.0 lbs. She is regularly running up the stairs to my loft like I haven’t seen her do in probably over a year and you can see definition in her shoulder joints and her haunches. Her spine is palpable as well. Most importantly, she has zero signs of the diabetic neuropathy that prompted me to change her lifestyle.

I hate that this had to happen to her to learn what was really good for her but I’m grateful that I got the opportunity to help her before it was too late. My other overweight cat has lost 2lbs as well and is down to 12.0…And is loving life again.

No carbs for my cats ever again. Obligate carnivores need meat and if vets would tell their patients’ owners this fact, there’s be a lot fewer diabetic kittys out there.

My kitties waiting for their dinner.
JackJack has a neck! :)

There’s a lot to learn from this experience and it’s not just about cats.
