About a year ago, a lover loaned me his copy of “Bonds That Make Us Free” with the preface that “it basically says that all of your bad feelings are your fault”, and he shared that he hadn’t been able to get anyone else, be it family, lover, or friend, to read it.
I devoured it.
Anger is useful to me because it signals a flaw in my thinking or behavior. Taking responsibility means that I have the power to fix it.
I am no one’s victim.
